REMIXA SUPPORTERHALSDUKAR med Rüdiger Schlömer Röhsska ger dig möjlighet att tillsammans med konstnären Rüdiger Schlömer genomföra en ovanlig workshop. Utifrån en samling av olika supporterhalsdukar präglas er egen stickning. Schlömer presenterar sitt projekt ”Schalalala” där han fokuserar mer på stickningens kontext och på olika underliggande historier än på olika sticktekniker. Since then it has shifted from virtually remixing fan scarfs on its website to the physical realization of these remixes, which can also be downloaded as knitting patterns. Within its process Schalalala tries to reflect on and experiment with current communication formats and phenomena on and inspired by the internet, focusing on the constructive influence of the audience. In this workshop I will introduce my project Schalalala and it's conceptual approach to knitting. As the project is focusing on the knitting context and substories, rather than just pure knitting technique (as I am just an amateur myself), participants should bring along some personal knitting stuff as listed below. As the knitting workshop situation is a very communicative one, it would be good to have some knitting 'pros' as well as beginners. Usually the exchange will happen very fluid. Schalalala’s basic idea is to deconstruct the fanscarf’s original functionality, and to reuse it as an open communication medium. The fans/users are enabled to recombine elements of existing scarfs, and to create their own individualized fanscarfs. The project name refers to its character and structural relations (”Schal” is German for scarf), which range from playful to subversive usage of textual raw material, as in Cut-Up, Dada, or contemporary remix practice.
