Open call for residency 29 July -11 August 2024 at Galleri 54 in Gothenburg

Welcome with your application to the collaborative artist residency Längs hela hjärtats kant at Galleri 54, Gothenburg. During a two week long residency a group of selected artists are invited to explore collaboration as an artistic method. The residency will result in an exhibition.

About the residency: Out of an interest in collaboration as an artistic method the aim for the residency is to explore and develop methods for working together. During the residency you as a group are welcome to explore a collaborative process, find ways to invite each other into your own practices, experiment and to make art together. The residency will end with an exhibition at Galleri 54. If you are interested in how collaboration can be used as a tool within an artistic practice, this residency is for you!

For who: For professional artists and art students of all fields, interested in collaborating as an artistic method. You can apply as one person, a duo or a group. Note that during the residency, all participants will collaborate as one group. Participants all around the world are welcome to apply but the residency does not include travel fees or accommodation. Maximum participants 5-8 persons.

How to apply (Application can be made in English or Scandinavian languages): Portfolio that represents your practice with 2-5 projects. CV and a short biography, max 2 pages. Motivation why you are interested in participating in this residency and in what way you are engaged in collaboration, max 200 words.

What we offer: Studio space for two weeks. Workshop in collective writing. An opportunity to meet new colleagues and share knowledge and experiences from different fields within the arts. An exhibition where the group gets to share what they have worked with.

About the gallery: Galleri 54 is an artist-run gallery in Gothenburg that was formed in 1954. The purpose of the gallery is to offer artists an opportunity to show their work and to articulate their ideas without commercial influence.
